The IIT Delhi Advisory Council be composed of senior and eminent persons from the Science & Technology, Business, Arts, Industry Academic communities and Alumni, who are active and have a vital interest in the programmes and actions of the Institute. A large number of the Institute's Alumni are in such senior positions, both in India and abroad, and it is expected that they will play a key role in the deliberations of the Advisory Council.
The Council would consist of upto 30 members and 7 Special Invitees (2 Dy. Directors and 5 Deans). The Registrar of the Institute will serve as the ex-officio Secretary of the Advisory Council.
The Chairman, Board of Governors, the Director and the other internal persons mentioned in the preceding paragraph would serve as he essential link between the Advisory Council and the executive bodies of the Institute viz. the Board of Governors, the Senate and other duly constituted committees.
